This is a bit of OLD NEWS, but I am trying to get caught up on posting about our life.... here are some pictures from our trip to Westside church's Winter Camp at Young Life's campus here in Oregon... Wild Horse Canyon... Aaron volunteered to be "camp doctor" for the jr.high, highschool wintercamp at our church so we tagged along with him.... we were told by the jr. high pastor that it is generally quiet and Aaron will just have to be available for dispensing medications and just being around "just in case" there were any emergencies... well, as it turned out, he was VERY busy and the first night we were there, he didn't come back to our cabin until 2AM... he had a nauseated teen, a couple of swollen, twisted ankles, and a broken arm... all withing 2 hours of starting wintercamp!!! This camp is in the middle of nowhere... no cell phone, no t.v., 10 miles of curvy road just to get to the nearest store.... anyways, it was no place for a broken bone and thankfully, Aaron is an orthopedist with a speciality in trauma (fractures) and foot and ankle... so it's like God knew who should be the camp doctor :):) He was able to set the bone right there at camp and the tough teen boy ended up staying the entire weekend. The boys and I got to hang out together and enjoy the nature...It is a beautiful place ~ It had been a long time since I was in the company of 200 jr. high/high school kids! I felt pretty old :) They were great kids though and had an intense schedule of worship and teaching.
