A gift from God

On sunday, Dec 10th, after church, Aaron, the boys and I went to get gas for his truck and a car wash.... as we pulled out of the car wash and parked the car by the vacuuming area outside, I looked up and saw this Willow Tree Figurine... I have always LOVED Willow Tree figurines and just this year asked Aaron if he could help me start collecting them... As far as I know, he has purchased me one for Christmas but I don't know which one it is... anyways, back to the one I found... It was sitting on top of one of the vacuums... very out of place, getting wet (it was raining outside)... I took it off the vacuum, somewhat shocked and speechless ~ I felt like it was given to me directly by God...because 1) He knows I like Willow Tree figurines and 2) I had been feeling somewhat discouraged the past couple of days leading up to sunday about the new restrictions that the CCAA is placing on new adoptive families and the fact that our wait times probably won't shorten...I think when the CCAA was being vague about the wait times, it made me be able to have more faith that things could pick up very quickly.... but somehow knowing that they have said the wait times will probably not shorten, made it more final and in my heart, I had been really hoping for a miraculous speed up.... anyways, the figurine represented a couple of things to me that only God knows I had been dealing with... I really had been wanting that particular figurine that I found... it always spoke to me about the sweetness of having the first baby... I thought I'd missed that chance with Noah because I didn't get that figurine specifically for when he was born but it was like God was saying, you can have it. Another thing that it spoke to was that we ARE going to have our daughter... it was just another reminder to trust Him and know that this was His idea and not our own and that He'll see us through everything. The title of this figurine is called "New Life"... What a profound figurine God deposited to me... God is bringing us a New Life... Our daughter is going to have a New Life... it is almost too much for my brain to comprehend the many messages God is giving to us through this one simple figurine. THANK YOU God, I receive it as a gift. You truly know all the details of my heart.

What a beautiful story! God truly knows EVERYTHING that we long for, everything that we need, and exactly how to care for us. Doesn't He do the neatest things? I love this story Pam, and appreciate the inspiration.

You do have a daughter. God has a perfect plan already. It is not random. He has already chosen her.

Blessings to you,
Rebecca

I love the gift God gave you, but the big gift from him I hope won't take as long as they are saying. God wants you to keep the faith, and his gift will bless you in so many ways. I can't wait for you to be a family of 6. "WoW 6"

Blessings,
Leslie

Portland Marathon 2013 (My First ever Marathon Recap)

I wanted to capture my moment by moment FIRST marathon experience so here goes: I'll start with the night before: We went over to Aaron's parents house to have some dinner with them as well as Micah & Danielle (Aaron's brother and wife) and their kids, Gabriel and Grace, and Mathew and Taylor (cousins of our kids).   We got back to our hotel (Hilton downtown) around 7:15pm and I organized my outfit for the big day while Aaron took the kids swimming at the pool.  I agonized back and forth about whether to carry my Nathan hydration vest or not for a week and Aaron finally helped me make the decision that although the aid stations were going to be plenty, I should go ahead and carry my own water.... because he knows that  1) I don't like stopping to get water even if it's a moment because I feel like I lose momentum 2) I am really BAD at drinking from the cups and have gotten multiple water sloshes up my nose (which hurts!) and water on my shoes (which, is BA...

I am OVER DUE :(

Happy 9 months since LID! I was in a very goofy mood and BEGGED my DH to take this picture of me.... Had I been expecting a tummy baby, I'd be officially OVER DUE. I think I have WAY too much time on my hands :) Gotta go tuck my kids in bed now.

Much has happened...

It's been exactly one week since we were given our bad news about not being able to adopt the girls from Indonesia. God has really comforted us alot during the past week... I still have a hard time not crying when someone asks me when we can go get the girls.... In my excitement, I showed so many people at church and friends the pictures of the girls because in my heart, I really felt these girls were ours. But, God is not done writing our story ~ I know that this will have a Godly outcome and we will move forward. We have had lots of support and encouragement ~ most people we know well have expressed their sadness over this. I returned the bedding I bought for the girls at the store and when I did, I was sorta in a sad mood.... the person handling the returns said "Are these not going to work out?" to which, I replied "No, it's not" and then she felt like she had to push the issue with me and said "Is there anything wrong with it?" By then, I...
